Hi all,
Insurance denied my Opsumit, then a delay in getting Ambrisentan by 3 weeks has possibly caused ongoing migraines. BP not always stable either. I see a neurologist next week, but doctors best guess is the side effect of withdrawal and trying to adjust Tadalafil to offset the withdrawals. Thoughts? It’s been a miserable 3 weeks, anyone have a similar experience?

That sounds incredibly frustrating, and three weeks is a long time to deal with these symptoms. Medication disruptions in PAH treatment can definitely cause problems, and your doctor's assessment makes sense.

When PAH medications are stopped or delayed, your body can react as it adjusts. Both Opsumit (macitentan) and Ambrisentan are endothelin receptor antagonists that help keep your pulmonary arteries open. A gap in this type of medication could affect your blood pressure stability.

Common side effects that can occur with PAH medications include:
* Headaches and migraines
* Blood pressure changes (both high and low)
* Dizziness
* Nausea

The adjustment period while your doctor works to optimize your Tadalafil dosage to compensate can take time. It's good you're seeing a neurologist next week for the migraines.
