I’m curious if this is something others with PH/heart or lung issues do too, or if it’s just part of my care plan.

Members responded warmly to a question about daily weigh-ins for fluid monitoring, confirming that twice-daily weighing is standard practice for those managing pulmonary hypertension and heart or lung conditions. Several members shared that they track weight alongside blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen levels, with most following a guideline to call their doctor if they gain 2 or more pounds. A recurring theme was the importance of diuretics like Lasix and spironolactone for fluid control, watching kidney function closely, limiting fluid intake, and finding comfort in community support to ease the anxiety that comes with daily monitoring.

@A myPHteam Member use to suck on ice lol but that's cheating. But I do watch the liquid intake on everything and make adjustments when having iron infusions.

I get it. I've always been liquid dependent as well...always with a seltzer in my hand or a bottle of water. I was probably drinking close to 4 liters a day till PH came in. I try to keep to the 2 liters...but that's really tough and that includes soups, milk in your cereal, ice cream which melts into liquid, etc. I probably have more like 2.5 liters but my specialist knows about it.

I weigh and do vital signs (BP, pulse, O2 sat) every morning around the same time. My cardiologist relies on me to use my judgement to call if I have a significant weight change. I suspect this is because he and his nurse know I'm a retired RN. Fortunately, my weight stays fairly stable (within 2 pounds or less) daily. The bigger concern in my case is my blood pressure which tends to run on the low side. If my systolic BP is 110 or less, I've been told to hold my diuretic (Bumex). If my weight does shoot up more than 2 pounds, I can take an additional Bumex.

@A myPHteam Member you see there goes the eyes or either the brain fog lol. I meant no more than 1000mL, which hurts me. I am a water drinker. I can drink a case of water in 2 days.
