I have IPAH since 2018 and am taking ambrisentan, tadalafil and increased my uptravi since the development of the shunt. Wondering if their shunt closed down after quitting the winrevair and how long it took? They also put me on LASIK as I'm retaining water in my abdomen.
As a 30 year Nurse, the BEST ADVISE is to make the an appt with the Doctor (he has your medical records) that to put you on those medications, you need the TRUTH and the FACTS about these medications. You have remember, that all medications affect everyone differently, out body chemistry is different, it affects how the medications work. I can look up these meds and your condition, But, I do not have your medical history, I do not have experience with these medications. I would be giving you bad advise. Anyone who gives you advise, although they men well, they don't all the facts, like me. Please make an appt with the specific doctor to talk and in the mean time, google everything, make a list of questions, so you will have a better understanding and have questions for him. Mak an Appt with him, ASAP.
Thank you, I do have an appointment on April 2. I've just been wondering if anyone else out there is experiencing the same

If you start gaining weight and fluid will build up in your abdomen and not losing it, could end up having your abdomen drained (you do not want this). How will you know? Every morning, after you go to the bathroom, in your birthday suit, weigh your self, same time, same place, same clothes record your weight, if you start seeing your weight going up and up and up, you need to go in and see your doctor. This is extremly important you do this as I have explained. This will help in preventing other problems. Ask the Doctor who gave you the meds, is this fluid retention has something to do with Shunt. Make an Appt with Your DOCTOR.
