I have had several. My advise is to relax, you will be goven something to make you relax. We all have had different experiences with a RHC. Speak freely with your doctor and ask as many questions you need answered. Express your thoughts and concerns until you feel comfortable. I know me if I hear what others felt, I start to freak out. So I pray on it and speak with everyone involved in the procedure. Please keep us posted.

It isn't horrible. I didn't even go all the way under. I had conversations with the nurses and doctors while they did it.

I’ve had 6 catheterizations so far for varying procedures. No big deal.

My only suggestion is if they are going to go through your groin, ask for an external catheter for during recovery. That will make your period lying flat and still much more comfortable.
