I used to love to smoke. I enjoyed it. It was my vice, but I'm telling you, I couldn't do it with just the patches or the lodges, or any of that stuff. I had to use shantiks that was a livesaver, my sympathies. It is a very hard thing to tackle, trying to keep myself busy without putting on a bunch of weight is another hard thing to tackle. Thankfully, I found stuff like sunflower seeds and pistachios trail mix, thanks low in calories. And now come december, I'll be a year free from smoking hallelujah. If I can do it, you can do it!

I was a former smoker for almost 50 years, Funny things is that I got sick in February 2019 by April 2020 I quit cold turkey. It was either breathing or the cigarette. The first week is the hardest, cutting down only prolonged me quitting.

MariG, good for you. I never had that problem. Although my daddy and first husband were smokers. They say that's as bad as smoking. Schene, I'm sure you can do it. Prayers for you to be strong enough to quit

I quit smoking when I was 22 years old. Now I’m 88 and sometimes I have a hard time breathing. I do pretty good when I’m sitting, today I am not breathing very well. Sometimes the weather has something to do with it. My pulmonary doctor doesn’t have a clue why I can’t breathe. I have scars in my lower lobes. I have mild asthma. I sleep with oxygen every night I lived with a smoker until 1980, he had two heart attacks and open heart surgery. He quit. It took years to get the smoke residue out of our house.
