Yes it does! You pretty much have to take them, are you will retain fluid. Result ending up in ER with a needle in your arm, dosing you with diuretics! I am now taking 20 mg of Lasix every third day! I have been in the hospital taking 80 mg three times a day! You do not want to do that!

Yes it does keep the swelling of the legs down and weight. I take 40mg of Lasix AKA Furosemide daily.

The water retention makes the heart work harder...something PH patients don't want to have to deal with. I've only lost 2 of the 4 extra water pounds so far so I am about to take a second 40mg right now. But I'm only allowed to do that for 3 consecutive days due to my also having Kidney Disease Stage 3A. So if those remaining 2 pounds don't come off by tomorrow, I'll have to call the clinic again.

I lose 2 pounds of water every single day, thanks to my Furosemide. Right now I am retaining water and gained 4 pounds overnight so I am taking 40mg in the am and another 40 in the afternoon as per my doctor on my portal.

All the best, Heather. I started on 20 ng a day today. Carefully watching the weight.
