Asking to see if anyone takes anxiety-relief meds for coping with PH, and what meds work best that can be taken with current meds for PH? (I'm on Sildenafil). On a day when I'm not feeling my best, I can get caught in an anxiety loop that derails me. I (rarely) take part of a Lorazepam to calm and it works... I also practice mediation and walking in Nature. I've asked my Pulmonologist multiple times but he always says he doesn't know anti-anxiety meds so cannot advise. Thank you

Some anxiety meds can be contrary to PH itself and/or some of the related meds. I would check with your PH Clinic. They would have a social worker who could help and the doctor and/or nurses could know if it’s safe and appropriate for you to take a pill of any sort.

When I was first diagnosed, and before I was accessing CORRECT information about PH, I scheduled an extra appointment with my cardiologist to ask him a million questions and to vent and yes, cry. Best thing I ever did. I came away energized and comforted and reassured. That was before my relationship was built with my PH Clinic team.

I’m a lot smarter and calmer now.

I fully understand and sympathize with the mental health issues any serious dx involves. AND, the lack of knowledge about PH contributes heavily to anxiety/depression...
I see a psychologist regularly, which I find very helpful. I manage to avoid any additional meds as I am on meds by the handful...
