Members discussed whether an electric seated pedal exerciser machine is worth using at home for low-impact leg movement, especially when walking or standing is painful due to ankle or leg injuries. Several members shared their own workarounds for staying active, including household chores, arm weights, stationary bikes, and water therapy, while others expressed curiosity about whether pedal machines truly build muscle or are just a gimmick. A recurring theme was the relief when the original member reported back that the pedal exerciser was working well, doing 15 minutes twice a day.

Michael, I have been having trouble weight bearing on my left leg since my femur fx, so I understand your predicament. I hobble around with my walker in the house. Ortho doc says I need to strengthen my leg muscles. I never used a pedal exerciser in PT, but have also wondered if they really help or are just one more money grabber to take up space you really don't have. I am also anxious to know how it works for you. God bless you my friend, and ease your pain.

I am very pleased with the exerciser! It really does give you a workout 15 minutes twice a day!

I did have a inground pool, but sold the house. Stand in the shower now, but I have a seat so it is just tough getting in and out of walkin shower. I treated for gout this morning and it worked. That medication is just so bad for you, but I could not hndle pain anymore!

MichaelBrand You may have mentioned it before, but do you have the ability to do water work outs? The natural buoyancy in the water will keep you in range of motion and flexibility and not an impact concern while there is close to zero stress to feet and ankles while in water.

I just walk. I started slow with 10 minutes a day and am at 40 minutes.
