@A myPHteam Member It will vary from state to state. Check their formulary for PH specific meds and be sure to check everything with a good broker.

Be careful to check out your options while it is still Open Enrollment. Where I live in Arizona, generally the Medicare D plans are more user friendly with specialty meds but some have dropped some PH specific drugs from their formularies.

Find a good Medicare C and D broker to work with and advise you.

Hi Frank. The Medicare brokers that Heather10 mentioned can answer all your questions and their services are free to you. My brother is on a Humana Advantage Plan and is happy with it, but if you are on medications you need to make sure they are covered on the plan you choose.

How much does Medicare Advantage pay for medications?

Medicare Advantage prescription drug coverage varies by plan, so the amount you pay depends on your specific plan's benefits. In most cases, telemedicine and medical services will cost the same as if you received them in person, and the Medicare Part B deductible applies.

For medications specifically, many people with pulmonary hypertension find that copay assistance programs from drug manufacturers can help significantly. However, it's important to know that people on Medicare are often excluded from manufacturer copay assistance programs.

To find out exactly what your Medicare Advantage plan covers for your PH medications, you should:

* Contact your plan directly to understand your specific copays and deductibles
* Ask about any formulary restrictions
* Check if your medications require prior authorization

Some myPHteam members have found success working with specialty pharmacies that can help negotiate costs and facilitate communication with insurance companies to determine how expenses can be lowered.
