What could be causing ongoing lightheadedness after being treated for dehydration?

While dehydration can cause lightheadedness, persistent dizziness even after treatment may be related to pulmonary hypertension itself. PAH makes it harder for oxygen-rich blood to reach your brain, which can cause that dizzy, lightheaded feeling.

Here are common reasons for ongoing lightheadedness with PAH:

- Your brain isn't getting enough oxygen due to limited heart function
- High pressure in your lungs strains the right side of your heart
- Narrowed pulmonary arteries make blood flow difficult
- Some PAH medications can cause dizziness as a side effect

Since your lightheadedness is continuing, it's important to follow up with your pulmonary specialist. This could be a sign that your PAH needs attention, especially if you're also experiencing other symptoms like shortness of breath or chest discomfort.

In the meantime, be careful when standing up from sitting or lying down, as many people with PAH experience increased dizziness with position changes. Move slowly to give your body time to adjust.
