I am on Medicare with a Medicare supplement. I also have a Part D drug plan. I have copay assistance through The Assistance Fund (www.tafcares.org).
@A myPHteam Member Here in Arizona all the United Advantage plans got dropped by several hospital groups as well as imaging centers and a lot of specialists here won't accept any United Advantage groups. For my peace of mind, if nothing else, I am on a supplement (Physicians Mutual) which accepts all doctors and hospitals that accept Medicare B...so that excludes the Mayo. Everyone I know with a chronic illness is on B and a supplement.

Thank you for that great advice Heather! I started looking at United Health Care and they don't seem to include National Jewish Health where I see my specialist.
Cheryl: I am assuming you are not yet on Medicare???? Assuming you still have the ability to select which kind of Medicare to go on, in general, people with serious chronic illnesses like PH are better served by Medicare B and a supplement and Medicare D, as opposed to the Medicare Advantage programs which may look more attractive up front but have too many exclusions when you are stuck in them.
Thank you! None of the medicare people I talked to were helpful. I was afraid I was going to have to die at my desk. (A little dark humor!) I always like to prepare ahead for these situations.
