Any kind of surgery, no matter how small or short I need to be intubated for. If not I may not come e through it, last time without being intubated was an extremely short procedure, 10 min max, and I went blue twice, my lungs stopped.
That's me, all of us are different, talk with you ph specialist.
As @A myPHteam Member says. You will need clearance from your doctors and you need to be certain the anesthesiologist is experienced with PH and that the surgery takes place in a hospital where there are cardiologists available.
A few years ago I had neck surgery. The neurosurgeon required clearance from my pulmonologist and cardiologist before surgery.
Thank you as I was also wondering about this.
MiaBraun, you need to talk with your PAH specialist about your surgery. He can tell you the ins and outs about surgery.
