I am supposed to have a sleep study next Saturday in Syracuse. It's two hours south and through the snow belt. Because it's an overnight I don't have anyone to go with me. The sleep specialist wants his own test to see what I'm at. I've never really felt I had sleep apnea but am told I do. Julie I would not do this. They have a harness you wear and you stay home in your on environment. You get a much truer test. They don't even have those sleep studies like that around here anymore. My sleep Dr. that I fire keeps trying to get me in to see about an Inspire but I like the mask and I can not sleep without it. Hopes this helps! God Bless!

It sounds as though you do want to cancel the yet. If that is your feeling due to the weather- you should cancel. Ask the Dr specifically why the results from the previous titration sleep study can not be used. Also, have you tried different masks? What are you currently using with the cpap? Perhaps a different mask or nasal mask would work better for you? You can always reschedule the test when the weather is better if you wanted.
Inspire can be a good option for those who cannot tolerate CPAP. But you want to make sure you fully understand the surgical procedure. The potential side effects. And talk to a surgeon who has done this procedure for a significant amount of time. Inspire has been around since at least 2015. When I worked in Recovery Room our hospital had a physician who placed Inspire Also Inspire only works for those with obstructive sleep apnea not central sleep apnea.

Spring is just around the corner, which means the weather concern will be alleviated for your trip to do the test. Can it not be postponed for 4 or 6 wks.? What are your husbands reasons for wanting you to cancel? If I was there we would be having a girls road trip to get you there. Of course that means we would start a day early, cuz in Cindi Lauper's own words "Girls Just Want To Have Fun"!!!!! funny ha ha lol
Inspire does require surgery, which is a big deal when you have PH, because you need a Anesthesialgest that knows how to monitor for PH.
I miss Kelly!!! I hope she is doing well, & hope she tightened the rains on her hubby after the rent & eviction drama. Wow after participating in this group on this site for several months now, while we may not be in the physical company of each other, I can see how when members that you have bonded w/ are no longer around, it really sucks. Almost kind of a form of grieving to a certain degree where this group & site are concerned.
