Members explored low-dose naltrexone as a treatment for joint and muscle pain, with several clarifying that it is used off-label at much lower doses than for addiction to reduce inflammation by blocking pain receptors and boosting natural endorphins. Practical concerns arose around potential interactions with weekly alcohol or sleep medications like Ambien, with the consensus being to discuss these openly with a prescribing doctor, as occasional drinks likely would not cause issues. Several members also shared alternative pain management strategies, including essential oil blends with frankincense and myrrh, and cannabis gummies for pain and sleep, emphasizing a preference for minimizing prescription medications whenever possible.

Thanks Christine. Do you know if I go out and drink a glass of wine or martini (which I like to do once about every week or two) on my good days, will that block the alcohol or make me ill, Anibuse would do for an alcoholic? Or my ambien for sleep would be blocked? Also, side effects were sleeplessness. I’m a stone cold insomniac. Sleep more the sicker I get but I still need it to stay asleep. Otherwise I would get an hour here and there.

If it is legal where you are try cannabis gummies. They really work for pain and sleep. Just take small amounts until you find your strength. I cut them in 1/4s and they really work. Also good for a replacement martini. I started taking three years ago and have quit most everything else.

Hi Kelly, I was just telling my rheumatologist that I was having muscle and joint pain. Major leg and ankle cramping. He is sending me in for blood work to check my Aldolase levels. He did not prescribe anything yet he wants to see whats causing it first.

Interesting. I wonder if it would help with Uptravi. It's not a joint pain. More like aches in extremities.
