When I use to fall asleep in my chair in the living room. My grandson would have to wake me because I would quit breathing. Now that I have bipap and I sleep at night. I rarely fall asleep during the day. To me its a win win.

Hi Mark, I am so sorry you are having so much trouble just trying to get some sleep. How many pillows are you using under your head n shoulders? Do you have the head of your bed elevated on some blocks about 4 inches? It probably sounds odd my questions. I found out a long time ago that if I could sleep in more of an upright position with pillows propping me at a 45 degree angle I could sleep better. I use small pillows to keep my head in one position with the C-pap line over my head and towards my shoulder. I don't move around at all because I am so tired when I lay down so I wake up in the same position. It took me awhile to figure out what size pillows i needed to use under my shoulders n back but a good nights sleep was worth the effort. I have a recliner I also can use once in awhile but it doesn't raise my legs high enough. I put pillows under my knees in bed to keep the swelling down. That works very well. We do what we need to do to make our Lives more easier to deal with most of the time with this Diagnosis. It can be so Frustrating when we just simply want a good nights rest. I still have days when I have been up all night long and others when I have had a good nights rest. Prayers for Easier Days for You!

Doctor told me my exhale was weak and CPAP was blowing CO2 back into my body causing headaches and no sleep. Said I needed bipap which helps you exhale. Wasted my money on CPAP now need bipap. Never sleep at night anymore

MSpicely, I have been waking up around 4AM each morning also. Then get up and can't go back to sleep. I get sleepy in the afternoon n if I sit I will sleep! I use c-pap and sleep hard waking up in the same position I lay down in. Morning is always my best time! I cook enough for 2-3 days n eat lightly until it's gone n then fix something else. Less dishes to do! I don't go out! Covid is very high everywhere! I have had my shot but some have n still get Covid! I am making a choice to stay home n try to be safe! I wear a mask Everytime that I have to leave! Prayers for our Family to be strong and safe with their travel!

I am checking for myself. I understand that a CPAC does improve quality of sleep because it helps the blood to flow easier thus putting less strain on the heart. Not sure about this. Still checking.
