My pulmonary test indicated FEV1 of 89%, but decreased DLCO of 53%. What does that mean? I am on 2L of oxygen when sitting and 3 or 4 when up and moving around. I am on 7 1/2 mg of prednisone a day and diuretics for congestive heart failure. I had 2 rituximab IVs a few months ago. I have pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, congestive heart failure, etc.

Emily: That pretty much describes housecleaning for a lot of us. For me, if I am doing any bending, I struggle to catch my breath. I do dishwasher emptying in 2 trips. The lowest section the first trip, the 2 higher sections (we have a silverware section as the highest) after.
Today I plan to dust 3 or 4 pieces of furniture and do 2 loads of laundry. I’ll leave the second load in the drier till tomorrow morning.
I’ve come to know what I can and can’t do in one day.
Angie, some days I can barely function, even with using oxygen all the time. I can do one load of laundry and then I have to rest. I load or unload the dishwasher and have to rest. I take a shower, with oxygen on, and it wears me out. However, when I see people out who are obviously fighting cancer, I know how blessed I am,
When I had my PFT it was inside a small booth. Imagine trying at 300 plus pounds trying to get in the narrow booth.
When I saw my pulmonologist last week he said that there is a new pft that you font need to be in a glass booth for. Imlooking forward to seeing what it is
Emily: Remember that ILD is a huge umbrella of over 200 lung disorders. ILD is what MOST pulmonologists deal with.
If you truly have PH, as diagnosed via a right heart Cath, you need an actual and bona fide PH specialist who ONLY deals with PH.
