Yes, weakness and fatigue are very common with pulmonary hypertension — you are absolutely not alone in this. In fact, nearly 60% of people with PH experience general fatigue. It makes complete sense that you're using a walker, and many others in the PH community do too. There are a few reasons why PH causes weakness and fatigue:

- Reduced oxygen delivery — PH makes it harder for your heart and lungs to get oxygen to your body and brain
- Inflammation — increased pressure in the pulmonary arteries can trigger inflammation, which drains your energy
- Sleep problems — PH is linked to poor sleep, which adds to exhaustion
- Less physical activity — fatigue makes it harder to stay active, which can make weakness worse over time A myPHteam member shared, "I feel such fatigue when I try to walk. The fatigue is much more debilitating than the breathlessness." So what you're feeling is real and valid. It's worth talking to your doctor about your fatigue and weakness levels. They may be able to adjust your treatment plan or refer you to physical therapy or pulmonary rehabilitation, which can help build strength safely. Staying as gently active as possible, even in small ways, can also help over time.

Me too. I have used a Walker or rollator for 3 years now. My balance is not good, my legs are very week. Thank God I live on one floor. Can't do steps any more. I am starting PT this week. I hope it helps

Yes…Weakness and little or no energy. I can’t walk without a rollator if I’m going more than 1 block. And I have to put almost all my weight onto the shopping carts in the supermarket. I am not ever depressed…but there are days I really struggle to get out of bed.
