I wear a medic alert bracelet and have QR CODE stickers on my phone for access by EMTS. However when they took me to ER in February I asked them if they would use them for full list of my mods and diagnosis if I wasn't alert and they said they did not use them.

A resting heart rate that feels elevated is something worth paying attention to, especially with a PAH diagnosis. It's great that you're using your oxygen — that's doing important work!

With PAH, the right side of the heart has to work harder than normal to push blood through the narrowed vessels in the lungs. This extra effort can cause the heart to beat faster, even at rest, as it tries to keep up with the body's oxygen demands. A few things that could contribute to an elevated resting heart rate with PAH include:

- The heart compensating for reduced blood flow through the lungs
- An arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat), which can develop as the heart muscle is under strain
- Low oxygen levels, even while on supplemental oxygen

It's really important to let your doctor know about this as soon as possible. They may want to check your heart function and oxygen saturation levels, and possibly adjust your treatment plan. Don't wait on this one — a persistently high resting heart rate with PAH deserves prompt medical attention.
