Having PAH and getting a cold with chest burning is something to take seriously. Chest pain or tightness combined with coughing or breathing difficulty warrants prompt medical attention — don't wait it out.

Here's what to keep in mind right away:

- Call your doctor or care team and let them know about your symptoms, especially the chest burning
- Do NOT take over-the-counter cold medicines or decongestants without checking with your doctor first — ingredients like pseudoephedrine and phenylephrine can interact with PAH medications and make symptoms worse
- Seek emergency care if you experience severe trouble breathing, cough up blood or pink-tinged mucus, or your chest pain worsens While recovering, a few gentle steps can help:

- Stay warm and avoid cold air, which can worsen PAH symptoms
- Rest as much as possible
- Keep a note of when symptoms started and any medications taken — this helps your doctor assess what's going on

Please don't delay reaching out to your healthcare team. With PAH, it's always better to check in sooner rather than later. 💙
