Be careful not to take any medication with decongestant agents. They can really mess up your pressure numbers.

I hope you feel better and enjoy your vacation

When you get a cold, what typically happens?

A sore throat is usually the first symptom you'll notice, followed by a runny nose that develops between days four to seven. You may also experience swollen lymph nodes and a slight fever as signs that you've caught a cold.

If you have pulmonary hypertension, getting a cold requires extra attention. You should make an appointment with your doctor, especially if you're using supplemental oxygen. When you're sick with a cold or virus, you may need to adjust your oxygen intake and monitor for other symptoms to prevent hypoxia (low oxygen levels).

During cold weather when viruses spread more easily, it's important to avoid crowds and wear a surgical or N95 mask in crowded indoor environments to help prevent catching colds and other respiratory infections.

One myPHteam member shared a helpful tip: "I've been making a list with a good friend of mine who comes to see me every day. She reminds me of all the things that have been affecting me for a month or more in-between doctor visits. This is an awesome way to remember to talk to your doctor about everything you may have forgotten."
