I had Covid last August, really bad. I had trouble maintaining 90% oxygen for several weeks, even at rest. I was really sick and took at least 6 weeks to fill mostly better.
I took the alternative to Paxlovid called Lagevrio, we don't think it was nearly as effective.
Paxlovid is contraindicated with blood thinners.
Teresa, it is as Heather says, get in touch with your medical team to see how you should handle it. Due to my lung disease I was told by my pulmonologist to call her as soon as i felt it coming on or tested for it so they could decide what I needed to take for it early on, don't let it linger. But your PH doctor needs to verify what you can and cannot take for covid with your other meds. Be sure to call them and speak to them or their clinical nurse not just the front desk!! Don't wait to see it if will move out on its own. We pray you feel better soon and your medical team takes care of this for you!!❤️🙏 I have had covid twice but jumped on it quickly and was able to get over it. Stay strong!❤️🙏
Heather, my primary care physician first contacted my pulmonologist to see what I could get on. My pulmonologist actually gave me her cell phone number so I could call her if I needed her to respond quickly, especially during the covid lockdown. She and my local PCP work well together. So I wouldn't take anything without talking to her first. But I am not on PH meds so haven't had to worry about those.
Thanks Heather, good to know. I'm on both drugs.
