Went to heart doctor in Oct and she said my heart was good and said I needed to see a sleep study doc and pulmonary doc. Had pulmonary work up ( ordered by PCP) last week and they said it was all normal ( consisted of 10 diff tests). Primary said she can see if pulmonary doc would see me although the workup was normal. Very confused. Sleep study is in Jan. Seeing heart doctor again in Feb. If pulmonary won’t see me what is next?

If your systolic pressure reading in your echo was 40 or above, you should have either your cardiologist or your pulmonologist order a right heart catheterization for you. Echocardiograms just offer approximations. They can’t firmly diagnose PH. Some doctors will order an RHC for patients with lower systolic pressures depending on symptoms and insurance requirements. It took me a full year to go through the complete diagnosis process and my initial systolic reading was 78!

It could be labeled RVSP. It HAS to be included in your report.

It’s not in my portal. I have looked all thru it and it’s not there. Unless cardiologist has separate site but they are all associated with Bay State Health in Spfld, Ma
