I suffer from Afib. My Afib events are less frequent since I started taking Jardiance 2 years ago. Then a few months ago I had a week long bout which we connected to a Magnesium supplement I was taking for insomnia.
You might consider getting a smart watch can alert you if your heart goes into Afib. A smart watch can also do an ECG on you which you can send to your computer to print out or send to your doctor.

Atrial fibrillation (AFib) in pulmonary hypertension is caused by structural changes in the heart and arteries that disrupt normal electrical signals. When PH develops, the right ventricle must work harder to pump blood through constricted vessels, leading to enlargement and potential heart failure. These changes can affect the heart's normal rhythm.
The heart relies on special cells called the sinus node to maintain normal rhythm. When electrical signals get disrupted, it causes the atria to beat chaotically and out of sync with the ventricles. Treatment options include:
- Antiarrhythmic drugs (beta-blockers and calcium channel blockers) to control heart rate
- Amiodarone to calm overactive heart muscles
- Catheter ablation surgery to remove parts of heart tissue disrupting electrical signals
- Anticoagulation medications (blood thinners) to prevent blood clots
Important: Some medications may interact with PH treatments, so always discuss medication combinations with your healthcare provider.
