I've had multiple heart caths over the past few years. Although there are some rare potential risks associated with the procedure, the data that can be obtained from them is invaluable.

Hi. I just had a right heart cat the other day. It went fine. Rest afterwards give me some to drink after 30 minutes I was free to go wait on dr. Just not able to shower until the next day. I was told to stop blood thinners 3 days before, if you take any. Best of luck

Hi Darcy, if your doc has the initials J. P. he did mine and did a great job. Quite gentle and good at what he does.

Thank you guys. You made me feel a lot better. I'm going to try to insist my dr does one to get an accurate reading. Im just a super worrier and scared of EVERYTHING! Lol

Hi @A myPHteam Member from what I read it is very safe and everyone who had it said it was completely fine. I think it is one of those things that sounds a lot more scary than what it is - or rather, that is what I am hoping for. I am a little nervous about it, but at the same time do hope that I will be given one at my evaluation at the Mayo PH Clinic, since I think it is an essential part of diagnosis and treatment. I think it is worth it for the answers it will provide.
