I had never heard of it either till my specialist told me he wanted my echo done in the hospital and not in a cardiology office any more. I don't know if The Mayo invented the concept of a PH Protocol echo but theirs is the protocol my hospital is following. I asked the technician how long the hospital has been doing this protocol and he said he thought since 2022. And I have no idea how many other hospitals are doing this protocol or if they have their own versions. It would be interesting to find out.

I also don't know if this protocol is designed just for Group 2 patients or if it's supposed to be used across the board. I'll actually try to do some research on that.

And it will be a nice quiet holiday weekend over here for us. I am determined to get back on my treadmill and get my dusting done!

Heather, looks like you were aware of most of this and your bubble test was negative, I had one of those in my last stress echo before I had my cath, mine was negative too, the RVSP of 55 is elevated, all the mild to moderate valve regurgitation have to be watched. Make them explain the difference of the regular echo and this one to show the difference in the RVSP numbers. The doctors look at things differently than we do, to them little changes are all good or stable, we want to know what are we looking for going forward. Looks like you are on top of everything you can do at this time, try to relax and have a great Labor Day weekend!!

Part of the results were already posted on the portal. I won't be speaking with my doctor till at least Tuesday or Wednesday due to the holiday weekend. But so far it doesn't look like I have any surprises in store for me. And if I'm reading correctly, there aren't any holes in my heart. My systolic pressure reading is much lower than in my last regular echo which stated 78! II guess the diuretic and Jardiance are working. Here's a copy and paste:
• Hyperdynamic left ventricular ejection fraction estimated. Ejection
fraction: 70%. No wall motion abnormalities.
• Normal left ventricular diastolic function.
• The right ventricle cavity is dilated with normal systolic function.
• The aortic valve is trileaflet with mild to moderate aortic
regurgitation.
• There is mild to moderate tricuspid valve regurgitation.
• The estimated RVSP of 55 mmHg suggests significantly elevated pulmonary
artery pressures.
• Negative saline contrast study for a right to left intracardiac shunt.

Oh Heather! Sounds challenging but just think of all the great info they collected today to help with your care. I’m so happy for you to be finished with that echo today.
