Thank you, Heather. Yes, I currently live at 5000 feet and PH slowly getting worse, but I am able to live a mostly normal life without oxygen at this point. I’m thinking of moving in the next year or so to a lower elevation, where I notice I saturate in the high 90s.

Thank you, Janine! I have never used oxygen – so if I go to that high of an elevation in Colorado, and need to use oxygen for low saturations, will this affect my pulmonary hypertension and cause permanent harm? I know the supplemental oxygen will help keep my saturations up, but will this permanently harm me? I live in Colorado and have trouble going above 8500 feet – start to feel lightheaded and my saturations go to the high 80s. This is a question none of my doctors seem able to answer, which is very frustrating. Thank you!

I'd do it, but hedge your bets and rent an O2 machine to use if you need a boost. It stinks having to leave early. Check with your local health providers. I rented a wheel chair and an electric scooter chair when we were on vacation. It worked out for our trip, and you can also see how things are for your own condition.

Each person would be different but I know I personally can’t handle elevations much higher than where I live in a valley in Arizona. I’m not on oxygen yet either.

Then again I also have other lung and heart issues.
