@A myPHteam Member sometimes it is baby step, baby step. In all honesty, while I was on just Tadalafil I didn't notice much difference. Once Ambrisentan was started, I began to notice more of a difference, but it wasn't until my Ambrisentan dose was increased from 5 mg to 10 mg that I noticed a real difference. I still have days where I get SOB more easily, but that seems to be more often related to my asthma since I see an improvement after using my rescue inhaler. The pollen counts in north Texas are killing me!
I also use ambersintin and tadalafil and I get moderate help ,still hard to breath but I can do more around the house and limited grocery shopping.
Viagra aka Sildenafil was developed to treat hypertension. It is often used to treat PAH. Another drug used to treat PAH that is also used to treat erectile dysfunction is Cialis aka Tadalafil. The dosages and dosing schedules are quite different for each condition though. I am on Tadalafil and Ambrisentan for PAH. In the past couple of months, I have noticed I am much less breathless and have more endurance most days. Many medications have dual purposes. I am on a medication for my autoimmune disease that was originally a treatment for malaria, a medication for neuropathy that was originally a treatment for seizures, and a medication to treat chronic pain that is also used as a treatment for depression.
It really works
Mr too. I’ve only been taking it now for several weeks but noticed a big improvement in my energy level just hours after my first 20 mg pill. I ‘m taking it as my first of 3 meds for PAH.
