I've been on it for 4 weeks and it has increased my fatigue and shortness of breath. Plus a horrible headache almost all the time. Just wondering if it will get better.

Members shared their experiences with Uptravi for pulmonary hypertension, with many describing severe and persistent headaches, increased shortness of breath, fatigue, and low blood pressure that sometimes forced them to pause or stop titration. Several members offered practical strategies, including taking the medication with high-protein meals to reduce side effects, working closely with doctors to titrate slowly over many months, using prescribed pain medications to tolerate the adjustment period, and monitoring blood pressure and sodium intake carefully. A recurring theme was the frustration of hoping a medication would improve symptoms only to feel worse, along with the shared understanding that finding the right treatment often requires patience, careful communication with medical teams, and the willingness to try a different approach if needed.

Caitlyn-it seems to help me if I take the uptravi with a high protein meal.

What strength are you taking? I couldn't go any higher than 400mcg twice a day! Any higher and I was in bed almost all day.

Stacy you might want to contact your doctor. Although headache is a common side effect of Uptravi, I would think the headaches would lessen over time. Also, I know I personally get concerned anytime my shortness of breath worsens, whether it might be related to a new medication or not.

It sure can. It's funny when I wasn't sick, I didn't want much salt. Now that I am, nothing tastes like it has enough salt lol.

Be sure to keep your dietary sodium intake low; increased fluid retention can also increase SOB.
