Hi All, Just found this wonderful site. My hub has COPD and just of late, we have noticed his feet & ankles are swelling. His pulmonologist noticed they were a little swollen at the last visit, a few weeks ago and said she'd keep an eye on it.

Thank you, June and everyone else. Very helpful to know what others have experienced. He saw the pulmonologist, who referred him to a cardiologist. He is scheduled now for a cardiology workup. The foot swelling definitely responds to elevating.
If hubby isnt having labored breatheing or more short of breath than usual or having no pain ,a trip to the ER may not be needed. You should definitely call a dr. These sound more heart related or kidney related to me. If you dont have a cardiologist, you might ask his pulmonologist for a referral to one. Hope this helps.

I am always short of breath and my whole foot will turn purple if I sit to long. I got a footstool to keep my feet up and that helps a lot.
I'm very touched really. Let your husband start a walk or 15 to 20 minutes of exercise.Huhs and prayers.
