I really want to better my chance staying healtjy longer. My current problem is fluids retention, high sodium, and high pottassium.
I need help to undwrstand how to eat better and what to avoid and what to eat more.
Keeping fluid weight off is imperative to reducing blood pressure. First thing my PH specialist did was start me on torsemide and potassium. I have lost about 7 pounds since august 25th. Reduce sodium and try to drink about 64 oz liquid. Thats hard for me but doable. ❣ V
Lots of fruits and veggies, fresh is best but frozen works too. Very lean fresh meat. Mrs. Dash is my new best friend, no salt but lots of flavor and there a few different flavors of it. I'm supposed to b on 2000mg sodium max and 64oz of liquid, water per day. I've fallen off the wagon and haven't been doing right and I gained a bunch of weight back and I feel more crappy. DIET IS SO IMPORTANT. No processed or pre packaged foods. Just pay attention to amount of sodium on labels, you can bet of there's not much sodium it's pretty healthy lol. Hope it helps. Good luck!! You can do it!
I also have to watch my sodium. I am only allowed 1000 mg a day. I eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. Frozen in the winter if I can’t get fresh. I have to pick and choose how I cook meat. No salt in anything. I play around with different spices to get the flavors I’m looking for. Not eating bread is hard but I’d rather have my sodium where it counts. I hope this helps.
