Is COPD Associated With Pulmonary Hypertension?

I have PH and COPD stage 2 emphysema, stage 2 chronic kidney disease, HBP and a few other diseases/ health issues! MargieBower I am the same way up all night sleep 1/2 the day away, I hate it! The only time I get my sleep schedule right is after getting out of a hospital stay! I also can't breathe well SOB, I am on oxygen at night 3 liters, and as needed during day which is after I do any activity lately! The "fatigue" is terrible I can barely make the bed now my heart rate goes high w/ doing anything and SOB! My Dr started me on gabapentin 300mg at night for sleep to see how it goes, because of my low oxy breathing they won't give me anything good like valium or zanax etc! I'm on 2 inhalers symbicort and spiriva plus ventolin (rescue inhaler), nebulizer as needed, 2 diuretics, amlodipine and a host of other pills daily! This disease SUCKS I had a lot of stuff I wanted to do and can't now, thank God my hubby is great and does a lot to take care of me... Good luck to you, talk to your pulmonologist or get a PH Dr they KNOW how to treat PH patients!!! =)

Sorry for your struggles. I haven't had my heart cath yet but all symptoms lead to PH. I am SOB almost the moment I stand up. I have a hard time sleeping at night. Your comments are useful.

Are you seeing a pulmonary Dr. Mine was dx by my right heart cath after an episode of CHF. BUT MY Lung Dr says he can tell when he examines my and my walking o2 stats. Good luck. Change Dr if you have too.

I have real struggles getting to sleep. My doctor gave me an RX for Trazadone and Zanax for sleep. The combination works good for me.
