I wear a turtle fur that I used to use for skiing. It lightly covers my nose & mouth & warms the air you breathe
I have the same issue. I thought id die last winter until i bought a scarf and covered my nose and mouth. I also use a Cpap machine at night.

Where a light scarf over your mouth and nose, take a couple of breaths first to get any cough out first, try not to be out for long periods of time, and take transit or drive close to your destination.
