I had my 4th Right Heart Cath today. The doc wanted to see how things looked after being on Winrevair for 7 months. He determined that when I am at rest, I am "fine, normal." He had me exercise on a bike during the procedure and determined that when I exercise past a certain point, my PAH flares up... my pressures significantly increase. He also had me do a 6-minute walk. I did very well...560 yards!

The doc took me off 2 meds: Opsumit and Torsemide. I was very happy to reduce my meds by two… read more

Members rallied around one person's exciting right heart cath results after 7 months on Winrevair, celebrating stable PAH, a strong 6-minute walk score of 560 yards, and the removal of two medications. Several members shared that finding the right combination of PH medications has made a real difference, with one noting their daughter is also doing well on Winrevair. A recurring theme was encouragement to stay active in retirement, with many agreeing that regular movement, even light exercise, plays an important role in managing PAH.

My take on retirement. Don't sit still. If you can, get moving. Then when you have those days. You chill with the remote 🤣 😂.

I was only on Opsumit 3 days a week--MWF. Dosage was lowered 2 years ago because the congestion it caused was intolerable. Doc determined that this low dose wasn't really helping. He said I can take torsemide if I ever think I need it, but he said I am not showing signs of water retention. Any weight gain is a result of being a recent retiree and being more sedentary... lol! I beg to differ, but maybe I need to give it some consideration--sit less, eat healthier, exercise more. I've just been reveling in the bliss of retirement. Maybe I have been relaxing too much.

That’s wonderful news Steve! As Debra said, be careful and observant while making these medication changes. But how exciting and optimistic! Keep us posted.

Vinny used to have a recliner. I’ve commandeered it.
