Members discussed what supplements are helpful or potentially harmful, with many sharing their personal routines shaped by conditions like lupus, fibromyalgia, diabetes, and macular degeneration. Several members mentioned taking vitamins D3, B12, iron, magnesium, and the eye supplement AREDS2, with some noting that AREDS2 caused nausea and suggesting trying a different brand. A recurring theme was the importance of keeping all doctors informed about supplements, since some can interfere with medications, especially for those managing complex health conditions.

I echo what @A myPHteam Member said, it's best to always consult your PH provider first. Some supplements are beneficial, but some can interfere with medications, People often assume that supplements, including herbal supplements, are harmless. However, just like OTC and prescription medications they are in fact medications. There is also no quality control or regulations on supplements.

I take Vitamin D3 and several Homeopathic cures. I have had success with them! Do your own research!

Just be sure that all your pertinent doctors are aware of everything you take.

My PH specialist is anti-supplement in general...but I do take a half dose each of Magnesium Taurate and Calcium/D3...and I take an Areds2 supplement to help slow the progression of my beginning macular degeneration. And I take a multi-vitamin geared to adults over 50.
