Have you or others tried the medication called Tyvaso?
Yes, many myPHteam members have experience with Tyvaso. It's an inhaled form of treprostinil used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension.
Tyvaso works by helping to relax and open up blood vessels in the lungs, which can improve exercise capacity and reduce symptoms like shortness of breath. It's inhaled through a special nebulizer device that comes with the medication.
The medication is typically taken four times daily through inhalation. Some people find the inhaled form more convenient than continuous infusion options, though it does require using the nebulizer device multiple times throughout the day.
Common side effects can include:
- Cough
- Headache
- Throat irritation
- Flushing
- Jaw pain
Many members have shared their experiences with Tyvaso on myPHteam, discussing both the benefits they've experienced and any challenges with the treatment. It's worth connecting with others who use it to learn about their day-to-day experiences and tips for managing the medication routine.
Your healthcare team can help determine if Tyvaso is a good fit for your specific situation and can provide guidance on proper use of the inhalation system.
