Group 2 is managed by treating the heart disease. I am on Furosemide, Carvedilol, Eliquis, Jardiance, and Wegovy. Also 2L O2 at night.

This coming Spring, Winrevair might become FDA approved for Group 2. That’s one reason to be with a PH Clinic. They will be the first to know and get access.

What is the treatment for Class 2 pulmonary hypertension?

Class 2 PH means you feel fine when resting, but normal daily activities like cleaning, walking up stairs, or grocery shopping start to make you feel uncomfortable or short of breath.

Treatment focuses on lifestyle changes and managing any underlying health conditions that led to your PH. Your doctor might prescribe medications such as:

• Calcium channel blockers - to help relax and open blood vessels in the lungs
• Vasodilators - to make it easier for your heart to pump blood

Since low oxygen levels (hypoxia) can cause shortness of breath during daily activities, your doctor might also recommend oxygen therapy to help you breathe better when needed.

Your doctor will monitor how well your body responds to medications and make changes as needed as PH progresses.
