PH. Rest when needed and talk to your Dr.
I am on supplemental O2. I don’t normally need when I am in my home, but if I am moving around a lot I do. As discussed, speak with your Dr.
Hi Ann, My oxygen level drops to low 90's when doing housework with heart rate going higer than like 130, but if I sit down and rest my numbers go back to normal, I tend to recover very fast. I was put on oxygen for exercise since my levels would drop to high 80's and low 90's when I would work out, I first got put on 2 Liters when I exercise and when I sleep at night, last month we had to move it to 3 Liters to get the same results. If I sit down and rest I do recover pretty quickly. When i got put on oxygen i didn't feel so exhausted after my exercise. Mine is due to interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis and now mild PH.
Oxygen levels below 90% during activity can be concerning and should be discussed with your healthcare provider. While it's common for people with pulmonary hypertension to experience drops in oxygen levels during activity, it's important to monitor these changes carefully.

Ann, that sounds like a good idea. I use oxygen at night as well. Last winter I went through a few days where I felt SOB all the time. My saturation levels without oxygen were good. I used the oxygen for several days 24/7. It made a difference. It's still a mystery why I was so SOB, but the doctor said, "You've got the oxygen, use it." Oxygen is a vasodilator, helping to open all the tiny blood vessels in your lungs. With PAH it is not unusual to need oxygen with activity but not at rest.
