I thought i was dreaming that I could not get a breath but it was in my sleep I was gasping for air?
Can you request a sleep study from your doctor?
I agree, you need to inform your doctor what you're experiencing and request a sleep study. Sleep apnea can put quite a strain on your heart and worsen PH symptoms. The new machines are actually pretty quiet. My husband has sleep apnea. He says he cannot sleep without his machine.
You should get a sleep study done. I gasped for air before I had the study and I didd have sleep apnea. I had c-pap, am now on a bi-pap, I cannot sleep without it. It completely changed my sleep patterns from awake 20 times a night to only 1-2 awakes and that is to change positions, right back to sleep. Wearing a mask is weird but I play I am an alien from some far away planet here to take over the earth. I am just the scout. All is well.
I would recommend a sleep study! I have OSA and I do gasp for air at times! Good luck!
Quite a while ago, I was plagued with both gasping and sitting BOLT upright while sleeping, and remaining asleep. The kids say it was spooky! So we put me into a sleep study and I have the very worst sleep apnea my technician has ever seen. I went right into getting my c-pap machine that week. What a strange thing, forgetting to breath while you are sound asleep is possible! It did take a while to get used to it, but now my sleep hasn't been better. I was having zero REM sleep, my disturbance rate was so bad, it was exactly like not having any sleep at all! Also so tired, too! We figure I had been like that since my C-section in 1990, but I was aware of the snoring. But that was not obviously bad for many years.. Have a sleep study, and at least it can rule out apnea unless it confirms it. All you do is sleep hooked up to sensors for a night, very simple. When my hubby get around to getting tested they even had a home version you could take home and go to bed with it. He had it too, but testing was even easier for him.
