I guess I could ask my PH Specialist but I bombard him with enough questions I thought I would seek an answer here.

Members explored the question of what makes a pulmonary hypertension protocol echocardiogram different from a standard echo, with initial theories ranging from 3D imaging to transesophageal techniques, though none proved correct. Several members shared their own echo experiences, noting that while they receive routine echocardiograms annually or more frequently, none had encountered the specific 'PH protocol' terminology, with one member's echo technician confirming he had never heard of it either. The original poster eventually received clarification from her PH specialist that the protocol includes specialized right ventricle measurements such as RV strain, specific pulmonary valve flow assessments, and more detailed right ventricle analysis tailored to monitoring pulmonary hypertension progression.

Finally got a portal reply from Dr Moore: The PH protocol here typically includes measurements like RV strain, different measurements of flow through the pulmonary valve and more specific measurements of the right ventricle.

Hey Heather. I get your question. The name tells that is not the same as a normal ECHO. Let us know what was different once done. Good luck. 👍
