Members rallied around someone confused about whether pulmonary hypertension pressures of 29-32 should be concerning, with many urging caution and suggesting consultation with a PH specialist since newer guidelines define PH as anything over 20. Several members shared their own pressure numbers ranging from 30 to 120, their treatment experiences with medications like Tadalafil, Opsumit, Ambrisentan, and Uptravi, and the importance of addressing underlying causes like sleep apnea through testing such as right heart catheterization to get accurate readings. A recurring theme was the confusion around varying medical opinions and the need for self-advocacy, with members encouraging thorough documentation of symptoms, seeking second opinions from PH specialists, and staying hopeful as new treatments continue to emerge.

I hope the will get to the cause and treatment for you! It's a bit frustrating because most people and many doctors don't fully understand about PH. I'm trying to create a binder with my visits and tests information and have started documenting symptoms. I've reached out to a PH clinic in Cincinnati. I pray God will shine a light on the path before us. 💜🪻🌠

I'd suggest seeking out a second opinion with a PH Specialist. New guidelines suggest PH is defined as a pulmonary pressure greater than 20. What is the cause of your elevated pulmonary pressure? This is the key to what type of treatment is appropriate for you. I have PAH associated with an autoimmune disease. My initial pressure was 36. I was started on Tadalafil and a diuretic (Bumex). Within a couple of months Ambrisentan was added. A year later my pressure dropped to 17. My most recent RHC shows a pulmonary pressure of 13. I will see my PH specialist again in 3 months. She is planning to add Uptravi. By addressing all 3 pathways (nitric oxide, endothelin, and prostacyclin) my long term prognosis is much higher. Of course I have to be able to tolerate all three medications.

I think it's very difficult to draw the line between getting enough exercise to maintain or improve our capacity and trying too hard.
It's not a 'one size fits all' question, each of us are different and trying to hurl ourselves headfirst at exercising without a proper assessment is not wise.
Having said that, exercise is one of the best ways we can help ourselves ☺️

Excellent idea Lisa.

I just did some quick Googling: Looks like the wedge number and the diastolic numbers are symbiotic...They are generally very close to the same as each other.

But it looks like it is important to get numbers classified since the mean numbers will be higher than the diastolic (or wedge).
