I've had incessant dry coughing a few times in my life: First time for about 14 months ended up being Lymphoma. Second time lasted over 10 years including daily coughing up blood. That was FINALLY diagnosed as Bleomycin Toxicity in the Lung from a chemo drug. I had to sell my business and my home and relocate to Arizona to escape the humidity. Then a coughing jag on our way to a baseball game brought me to an ER where I was diagnosed with heart failure. And most recently, I had about 4 weeks of an incessant cough that went away immediately when I stopped taking the Tadalafil. I will probably start Sildenafil in a couple of weeks. (I am also on Opsumit without any side effects after a brief period of blurred vision.)

As an update: I am now officially off Tadalafil. Seems like I am in the .01% of patients that experienced a debilitating cough from it. The people at the pharma told my clinic director that the percentage was so low that they didn't think it worth inclusion in their side effect list...but that more patients are starting to report coughing than before. I will probably be put on Sildenafil in about a month.

I started with 40mg of Tadalafil which my body couldn't handle at all with severe back and joint pain. We then lowered me to the 20mg and at first I thought it was okay. I simultaneously started Opsumit. Cough is not listed officially as a side effect of either though drugs.com lists it for Opsumit. My PAH specialist had me temporarily stop the Tadalafil and the cough is now mainly, but not completely, gone. Unfortunately, the Tadalafil immediately was controlling my Afib so I would ideally want to go back on it. I'm still taking the Opsumit.
