Members shared a wide range of perspectives on whether to get vaccines like flu, pneumonia, RSV, and COVID boosters, with many expressing caution about COVID vaccines specifically due to concerns about side effects, past reactions, or uncertainty about their effectiveness. Several members described their approach to prevention, including staying current with flu, pneumonia, and shingles vaccines while weighing personal risk factors like pulmonary hypertension, autoimmune conditions, age, and oxygen dependence, with some advocating for vaccines as tools to reduce severity of illness even if not a cure. A recurring theme was the importance of individual choice informed by personal health conditions and circumstances, with members respecting differing opinions while sharing practical tips like timing vaccines strategically and appealing insurance denials for high-risk patients.

I have stayed abreast of all my vaccines, flu, shingles and pneumonia shots. My husband and 2 daughters, 31 and 25 did not ever get Covid and I thank God. Whatever I can do to prevent from getting sick or hospitalized then I’ve done that. We never stopped wearing our mask when we go out, use hand sanitizer, the works as if we were in the heart of the Covid. God doesn’t give us fear but he gives us common sense. If they have medical scientists developing vaccines to keep us living, why won’t we. That’s just my opinion but I respect all of my family with me and on here of how you feel. I don’t judge anyone for what they believe. So, please stay healthy thru all means possible. ❤️❤️

Given the fact that I have PAH and asthma as well as an autoimmune disease plus I'm almost 65 I stay on top of all my vaccines. My biggest fear is becoming hospitalized with serious illness that might have been preventable. We are scheduled for the RSV vaccines this afternoon. Because we will be going on a cruise the end of the month, we will probably get our flu (and COVID if available) shots before then. We will get our second Shingles shot in November.

Yes……my doctor does encourage the different shots. If they decrease my chances of contracting the different health challenges yes……I don’t mind getting them. I know they are not a cure all ……. But hopefully should I contract the illnesses…….the shots will decrease the severity of the problem 😏

I've gotten the flu shot for years, and have gotten the pneumonia shot. I also get the COVID boosters.

Oh, yes. But I'm being told to wait on both the flu and Covid until November.
