I know this is a frightening diagnosis. In addition to medications, there is much you can do to manage heart failure. Daily weights are more important than ever. Talk with your doctor about the weight parameters you need to remain within. Rapid weight gain indicates that you are retaining fluid and your heart is pumping less efficiently. You need to be diligent about eating a healthy low salt/sodium diet. Unless instructed otherwise, you should not consume more than 2000 mg of salt/sodium per day. That's one teaspoon! Focus on a diet of lean proteins such as chicken and fish, lots of fresh veggies, and fresh fruits. Stay away from processed foods such as frozen meals, sandwich meat, canned goods, etc. Become a label reader. Look for the word "sodium" on labels. Avoid pickled foods. Unless instructed otherwise, drink plenty of water to expel sodium from your system. Exercise daily. Heart failure is not curable or reversable, but you must take control of your health and manage your heart failure aggressively.

Hey bj10. Stiff heart is when the muscle thickens from high BP. It's a warning sign of congestive heart failure.
I have no answers but will be praying for you.
Pretty much same story here. Wow
I have had multiple cardiacs due to afib. After my third ablation surgery, I started having heart failure they told me it was due to diastolic heart failure they explained that One side of my heart muscle was too thick. And not pliable so heart could not squeeze properly ? 2 years later. After treating me for another round of CHF they discovered via echo in the hospital that I had severe pulmonary hypertension. ??
