I have been a smoker for 30 years and I am determined to quit tomorrow. I also need to lose weight, which is hard cause i.m not as active as I was. I need to eat healthier and want to make changes so I can be around longer. How is everyone doing on changing their lifestyle?

I quit smoking 12/12/18 and I recently lost 70 pounds. I’m working on being more positive.

Thank you it has now been 14 hours no cigarette but who's counting? Lol. Thanks for the advice. I know I can do this. I believe In myself and refuse to give in! The craving will stop at some point.

Foggy…… my husband smoked for over 40 years. And quit …. And has not smoked in 20 years. He smoked over 3 packs a day. I just asked him how he quit…. He said “I realized I could use the money I would save from not smoking to pay for my nicotine gum.” And that is exactly what he did. He said he bought the generic nicorette gum which is half the price of the brand Nicorette! (Sam’s and Walmart generic brands) He has now not even chewed gum in a couple years. With the very high prices of cigarettes now……. YIKES! You should be okay with covering the cost of the gum. He loves that he no longer smokes. He said he missed the sensation of holding a cigarette so he used celery sticks and carrot sticks to alleviate that urge and also helped him lose weight during that time! I also smoked and I quit as well but only smoked until 1981 which was 21 years.

I know you can do it! Keep us all posted on your successes no matter how small or how HUGE they might be …. As we are all pulling for you!!! 😎. Jeanine

My medicare pays for many thousands of dollars worth of prescriptions a month hut refuses to pay for anything to help me quit smoking. So tomorrow on my birthday I am giving it all I got without help! I believe in myself, I am determined to do this! Thanks for the good luck. I want to be healthy and the only way for me to get and stay healthy for long as possible is for me to put in the hard work! Have a good night.
