I’ve have 3 bad bouts of passing out, caused a concussion and facial trauma and many hurt parts to my body. Yesterday I struggled to stay awake when I woke up, was very sluggish, had to see cardiologist and have a breathing test so I was determined to still shower. I passed out in the shower then passed out 4 more times trying to get to my phone. My 9 yr old son had to help me. Is there anything that helps reduce the risk of fainting?
Your cardiologist should consider you a priority case, This is dangerous not only in falling, but you could be having heart failure as well. Next time call 911, that will take you emergency and someone will get on your case immediately. How far away is the hospital from your small town.
I’m 15 mins from closest hospital but it’s not meant for critical patients. Our bigger hospital is 30 mins away. I missed my cardiology appointment because I was at emergency (my friend drove me in) but I’m in tomorrow instead of having to wait 3 mths (voice mail I first had from my cardiologist’s office till I called in an explained what had happened).
Definitely write these questions down and ask your doctors. I bring my note book with me and ask the family doctor, the cardiologist and the doctor for the pulmonary hypertension. I make sure to write down the answers. You can then write down what works, what doesn't work. Dosage changes that might have helped.
I have a shower chair in my bathtub for taking showers. It helps me conserve energy while I wash myself and I feel safer. While I'm in the kitchen I sit on a chair counter height to prepare things to eat, cook dinner and other stuff (take medication etc). When I feel dizzy I stop whatever I'm doing and sit down until it passes. Having a chair nearby in the bathroom, kitchen, helps me. It does take some pre-planning before hand like having a face cloth and towel set up wherr i need it before I start the water and get on the chair. I also have to make sure I have all my ingredients, utensils, cooking dishes set up next to the stove for minimal getting out of the chair once I sit down to start. I pretty much plan having everything I need around me and sit down as much as I can during the day. I stop for breaks a lot. Try searching or thinking about ways to conserve your energy during daily tasks. I found a pharmacy that gives me medication in a blister pack so I don't have to organize it all ant more on my own. I even try to prepare food in advance when I feel ok so I can just grab meals from the fridge. Deligate a lot of things for the kids to help me out with. They carry the laundry up and down the stairs. I sort it but they do all the walking to put in the correct person's room. Hope this helps.
I am taking Entresto and have been feeling really good. Very little dizziness. I have not had any fainting spells. I hope they can help you. It must be so scary.
